Special Scholarship for Elite Sports Persons

The Special Scholarship for Elite Sports Persons Scheme provides need-based assistance to sportspersons who have the potential to win medals at the Olympics and other international competitions. Under the scheme, financial assistance of up to Rs. 30.00 lakh per person per annum is provided. Currently, 27 elite sportspersons are receiving assistance under this scheme. Of these, eight athletes represented India at the Paris 2024 Olympics, and three athletes represented India at the 2024 Paralympics. The following athletes participated on the 2024 Olympics and the 2024 Paralympics.
